Citrus sphaerocarpa (sometimes known as ‘Kabosu’) is a Japanese citrus fruit, traditionally used for its tart fruit and aromatic peel.

The essential oil or zest oil is extracted from the peel of this fruit.

Uses: in perfumery, flavourings, cosmetics and aromatherapy.

The aroma is described as fresh, ‘lime/mandarin’, with green or slightly peppery/spicy notes depending on the extraction method.
